AHIMA: Unified data governance is important to standardize EHRs

The American Health Information Management Association has issued a call for unified and enhanced health data governance to standardize the use of EHRs to address issues related to data integrity, quality measurement and patient safety. "AHIMA stands ready to work with HHS, the [CMS] and other groups to establish the guidelines that will accurately and fairly represent performance and outcomes of care," AHIMA CEO Lynne Thomas Gordon said.
