AAFP delegates refer membership and representation resolutions to the board

After vigorous debate, delegates to the AAFP Congress voted to refer a number of resolutions to the board of directors, including establishing membership categories for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Other resolutions referred to the board called for the formation of a special interest group devoted to solo and small-group practices. Delegates voted down a measure asking for the establishment of a task force to consider changes to the Congress of Delegates "based on limited proportional representation as a means to increase member involvement and representation in AAFP activities."
