Broadcasters urge FCC not to rush repacking process

The three-year timetable for the Federal Communications Commission to reimburse broadcasters for their repacking expenses due to the incentive spectrum auction could be problematic, since there are so many unknowns about the proceeding, broadcasters told the FCC at a workshop Monday night. David Donovan, president of the New York State Broadcasters Association, said the FCC should learn from the DTV transition and remember the importance of good planning and coordination.
