Cellulosic ethanol project wins support from Canadian government

Vanerco, a joint venture of Enerkem and GreenField, has received $734,500 from the Canadian government to support development of a 10 million-gallon-per-year cellulosic ethanol plant in Quebec. The funding, administered by Sustainable Development Technology Canada, could rise to $39.8 million, depending on the project's progress. Construction is due to begin in 2014.
