Drugmakers take steps to ensure accurate Sunshine Act disclosures

Drugmakers are developing procedures and adding information technology staff to make sure the information they provide for public reporting under the Sunshine Act will be accurate, said Kendra Martello of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, who estimated that pharma companies are spending up to $15 million to put systems and personnel in place. Physicians will be able to review data next summer, and the CMS has created a mobile app to let doctors review data as it is submitted.
