Hand transplant pioneer dies

Surgeon Harold Kleinert, who led the first known successful bilateral arm replant in 1977, died Saturday. He was 91. Kleinert co-founded the Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, Ky., and was a clinical professor of surgery emeritus at the University of Louisville and Indiana University-Purdue University.
