Harms of prostate cancer screening exceed benefits, study says

The overall harms of prostate cancer screening through prostate-specific antigen tests outweigh the benefits, according to a study presented at the European Cancer Conference. PSA testing can lead to impaired quality of life, and some statistics indicate it has not reduced mortality, lead author Dr. Mathieu Boniol said.
