House proposal to repeal 2.3% device tax fails to clear Senate

A spending bill that would have overturned the 2.3% medical-device tax has been rejected by the Senate in a 54-46 vote and will go back to the House for further review. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., however, said that the device-tax repeal could still be considered if a way to offset lost revenue can be found.
