N.Y. companies provide learning opportunities for tech students

More companies nationwide are looking for ways to inspire students to pursue jobs in engineering and technology by bringing students into the workplace for projects and internships. About 20 tech companies in New York state are giving high-school students work experience that the students can also use to earn college credit. The program, which includes partnerships with TRC Cos., Cisco and GlobalFounderies, is operated by the tech program at Hudson Valley Community College.
