Poll: Few Americans know how long-term care is financed

More than two-thirds of Americans responding to a Harris Interactive/HealthDay poll do not know how they will pay for nursing home or home care needs, and only 19% knew that Medicaid is the major funder of long-term care. Sixty-four percent said most people should buy long-term care insurance, but less than 8% actually have. Seventy-nine percent support tax breaks to help people pay for long-term care insurance.
