Starbucks' food focus switches to owned brands, lunch items

Starbucks is starting to drop food products from outside sources in favor of Starbucks-owned brands. The company is replacing pastries with goods from its recently acquired La Boulange bakery, while kicking out Kind, Peeled and Naked Juice products for its own Evolution Fresh line. The company plans to introduce La Boulange sandwiches soon in an attempt to draw in lunchtime customers. "La Boulange will be the platform for all future food in Starbucks stores, including lunch and evening savory items," a spokesman said.
