Ultrasound-guided treatments gain prominence

Ultrasound-guided procedures have increased from 2,425 per 100,000 in 2004 to 4,870 per 100,000 in 2010, and radiologists are no longer behind the needle in many cases, according to information published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology. Non-radiologists were responsible for 72% of that increase, followed by radiologists, surgeons and others.
