VA services face impacts from government shutdown

While Department of Veterans Affairs' medical centers and other health services will continue operations despite the government shutdown, other services are suspended, including the Veterans Benefits Administration Education Call Center, or will be affected if the shutdown continues past the end of the month. Progress will slow on the backlog of disability claims because the Veterans Benefits Administration will not be able to pay overtime to claims processors, and veterans seeking decisions on appeals to their disability claims decisions will have to wait until the government reopens.
