Chicago Schools Tighten Constraints On Uncertified Teachers

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) CEO Arne Duncan said Oct. 1 that new teachers in the city must disclose how many times they took the state's teacher-certification tests before passing. Chicago school officials say there could be as many as 1,750 uncertified teachers in CPS classrooms.
