Maryland Panel Suggests Curriculum Changes

Recommendations for a statewide curriculum were issued Oct. 1 by the Maryland Visionary Panel for Better Schools, a 40-member panel of educators, business leaders, politicians and parents. The group said the curriculum would lay out specific content standards and achievement benchmarks but would fall short of mandating that all teachers teach the same lessons on the same days.
