School district ordered to pay teacher $200,000 for privacy violation

A Hartford Superior Court jury awarded former high school English teacher Thomas O'Connor more than $200,000 after his school district demanded he sign a waiver making his medical and psychiatric records public. The teacher had been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation during an investigation into allegations of misconduct and lewd language, which were ultimately deemed to be unfounded.
