Oregon eases school-grading system amid testing changes

Oregon schools may see a boost in their grades next week as the state's grading scale is eased for the first time in eight years. Confusing changes in the state's standardized testing program -- especially a switch from online testing back to paper-and-pencil tests -- may have otherwise lowered more than 100 schools' grades, state officials said.
