ConocoPhillips taps Carrig as president, COO

ConocoPhillips has announced two major changes in leadership. John A. Carrig has been promoted to president and chief operating officer, positioning him to replace exiting chief executive James Mulva when he retires in about three years. Also, Red Cavaney will become ConocoPhillips' senior vice president of government and public affairs after he retires as president and CEO of API on Oct. 31.
