Crisis turns strength of Italy's UniCredit into concern

Italy's UniCredit was a leader in establishing cross-border operations in Europe, but the global financial crisis has turned that advantage into a liability. After dropping 21% this week, shares in UniCredit rebounded a bit Wednesday when the bank reaffirmed support for its CEO. Also, the Italian government said it is ready to help keep the country's banks financially solid.
