Michigan could harness wind power of Great Lakes

According to a report from the Land Policy Institute, Michigan could produce 321,000 megawatts of power by installing wind turbines on the Great Lakes. Michigan controls 40% of the surface area of the lakes, and the turbines would not face salt-water corrosion in the fresh-water lakes. "Michigan is one of few states with the opportunity to generate wind power from its offshore area," said Soji Adelaja, the director of the Land Policy Institute.
