Deere, union tentatively agree on 6-year contract

Deere & Co. and the United Auto Workers reached a tentative six-year contract agreement covering 10,000 workers. The agreement must be ratified by 15 local unions before the contract takes effect. The contract also covers retirement benefits for 17,000 retired John Deere employees. The agreement "meets the needs of employees while recognizing the nature of Deere's competitive challenges around the world," David Everitt, president of Deere's agriculture and turf division, said.
