Despite housing slump, FTTH subs still rising

The number of homes that took fiber-to-the-home services rose to 5.3 million last year, according to the FTTH Council's latest report, which also showed the number of homes passed grew to 17.2 million. Still, consumers remain largely unaware of the technology's value, said Michael Render, president of RVA Marketing Associates, which conducted the study.
