Rate increases lead some to cut back on long-term care

Most major long-term-care insurers have requested double-digit rate increases in recent years, prompting some policyholders to cut back on coverage. The increases come as policyholders are living longer than expected when their policies were issued in the 1980s and 1990s, insurers have said.
