Alcohol raises A-fib risk in older diabetes patients

Moderate alcohol consumption was associated with an increased risk of atrial fibrillation in older patients with a history of heart disease or advanced diabetes, according to a study in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. The study was based on data from more than 30,000 patients age 55 and older in 40 countries.
