6 states receive funds to study transition interventions

Utah and five other states will share $32.5 million in federal grants to study the effectiveness of interventions for students who receive Supplemental Security Income benefits. The program -- Promoting the Readiness of Minors in Supplemental Security Income -- will divide 2,000 students into control and intervention groups and track how well these students transition from school to the workforce or postsecondary education.
