Americans have inaccurate perception of nutrient intake

Many Americans believe they get enough dietary nutrients, but an International Food Information Council survey finds perception and reality can be widely different. The Functional Foods Consumer Survey found 68% of people said they got enough vitamin D, while only 32% met dietary recommendations, and 61% said they had adequate intake of potassium, while less than 3% actually were getting enough.
