Delays said to dash Apple's hopes for a sharper screen iPad Mini

Apple's hopes of widely distributing an iPad Mini tablet with a sharp "retina" display in October suffered a production setback, according to a media report meaning the slate will may not be able to match the high resolution found on some competing devices. "If they don't put in retina ... there will be howls," said Forrester Research analyst Frank Gillett. It was unclear what caused the production delays.
