E.ON flips switch on 48-MW offshore wind farm in Sweden

Germany's E.ON has switched on its 48-megawatt offshore Karehamn wind farm near Sweden's Oeland island. The wind farm took 19 months to construct at a cost of $163 million. The facility's 16 turbines are capable of generating enough electricity for about 28,000 households, E.ON said.
