FAA will be mostly business as usual during shutdown

The shutdown of the federal government affects nonessential services, but about two-thirds of the Federal Aviation Administration's 46,070 employees, most of them in the Air Traffic Organization, will not be impacted. According to officials, training of new air traffic controllers, air traffic performance analysis and dispute resolution will be halted, and long-term NextGen efforts would slow.
