Ideas for teaching writing across all subjects

All teachers need to incorporate writing in their lessons under the common core and, to do this, they should collaborate with each other and borrow the writing rubrics of English teachers, middle-grades educator Heather Wolpert-Gawron writes. In this blog post, Wolpert-Gawron, author Kathy Glass and veteran educator Carol Jago offer ideas on writing instruction -- including how to think of language arts classes under the common core -- as well as suggested links to classroom materials that help students understand the expectations for a writing project.
