Nokia looks to harness the power of lightning to charge phones

Researchers from the U.K.'s University of Southampton are partnering with Nokia on technology that might someday enable consumers to charge their devices by tapping the atmospheric energy that manifests as lightning. While the scientists have successfully completed a test using a manufactured 200,000-volt "lightning bolt" -- charging a phone in just seconds -- how to replicate the experiment remains a mystery.
