Scripps, Meredith invest in online series

Scripps Networks Interactive and Meredith are each supplementing their traditional media presence with major new investments in online series. Scripps has created a new portal through which it plans to air scores of new shows, as well as an archive of clips from Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel and its other TV networks. Meredith, meanwhile, will go from having one Web series to six in 2014.
