Study rejects link between statins, brain-related problems

Researchers examined data from eight studies and found that patients who took statin drugs for at least a year were no more likely to develop brain-related problems such as memory loss than nonusers. Instead, the study showed that long-term use of statins may reduce the risk of dementia. The findings appeared in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings.
