Survey: Americans have inaccurate perception of nutrient intake

Many Americans believe they get enough dietary nutrients, but an International Food Information Council survey indicates that perception and reality can be widely different. The Functional Foods Consumer Survey found that 68% of people said they get enough vitamin D, but only 32% met the related dietary recommendations, and 61% said they have adequate intake of potassium, but less than 3% actually do so.
