U.S. seniors' Rx consumption reaches saturation point, report finds

VOI Consulting concluded that the use of prescription drugs among older Americans has reached a period of slow growth following rapid expansion from 1990 to 2010. The market growth for this population for the 2011-2030 period is projected to be one-fortieth of the rate from the previous two decades. The change is attributed to the regulatory environment, limits on costs and generic availability.
