Banning social media use might seem like a good way to make sure your staff stays focused, but it isn't necessarily a wise choice, according to Angelo Kinicki, a management professor at Arizona State University. Blocking social networks might upset young workers, contribute to a culture of mistrust and make it harder for some employees to stay energized during the day. "For some, checking social media is a way to relax for a moment away from your work situation," he said.
