Judge Expands Education Lawsuit Against California

A San Francisco judge has widened the ACLU's lawsuit against 18 California school districts to apply to possibly all 1,100 in the state. The lawsuit alleges the districts provided paltry education infrastructure, limited textbooks and inadequate teachers. Gov. Gray Davis said the local school board officials are responsible for ensuring proper education conditions and equal educational opportunities.
