Wal-Mart Surges Ahead With Expansion, Defying Slow Economy

Wal-Mart has said it will continue its aggressive expansion plan in spite of the slowing economy and the possibility of war. The company says it will open 50 new stores and as many as 185 new supercenters in the next year, as well as 15-20 new Neighborhood Market grocery stores and as many as 25 Sam's Club wholesale stores in the U.S. Wal-Mart also plans to open at least 130 new outlets internationally.
