Stem cell donations aid leukemia patients

Some leukemia patients are undergoing a new type of procedure, in which doctors destroy their immune systems and remaining cancer cells through chemotherapy and rebuild them with donated stem cells. Six million Americans have joined a donor registry, and research has shown the procedure has a 40% to 60% chance of saving cancer patients' lives.
