Calif. homeowner ruffles feathers with native plants

Orange, Calif., homeowner Joel Robinson received a letter threatening jail time from city officials over native plants in his front yard. Robinson ripped out his turfgrass two years ago to plant native shrubs and grasses, but neighbors complained the native plants looked like weeds. "I'd be willing to comply if it doesn't sacrifice the habitat value and if it doesn't increase our water bill by an incredible amount," Robinson said.
