Scottish government to expand free meals programme for students

The Scottish government will offer free meals beginning in 2010 for students in the first three years of school after a £5 million pilot scheme saw a more than 50% increase in the number of children eating the free meals. The government says money is already available to fund the programme, while some assert other services will have to be eliminated.
