Sun Country warns of possible layoffs, shutdown

Sun Country Airlines has warned its 850 employees they could face furloughs -- or even a complete shutdown -- as early as Dec. 1. The airline sent its letter late Wednesday to comply with a federal regulation requiring 60 days' notice of any large-scale job cuts. "We are doing everything in our power to make sure that we stay viable," a spokeswoman said Thursday. "Our vendors are in discussions with us and they've been very helpful."
