Companies ask judge to reschedule proceedings for Gulf-spill lawsuits

U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier has been urged to delay a trial over lawsuits stemming from the Gulf of Mexico rig blast and oil spill until 2012, according to a filing from companies including Halliburton Energy Services and Cameron International. More time is needed to address "limitation and liability allocation issues," the companies said.
