Microsoft takes Motorola to court over Android patents

Microsoft has stepped up its fight against the Android operating system by filing a lawsuit against handset maker Motorola for allegedly violating nine of its patents in deploying the Google-owned software. "It's a new industry and it's very unclear who owns the technologies; the products are moving faster than the intellectual property," said Morgan Keegan & Co. analyst Tavis McCourt.
