Secure Flight requirements will assist TSA with watch lists

The last phase of the Transportation Security Administration's Secure Flight program requires travelers to provide their full name, birthday and gender to the airline at least 72 hours before departing on a commercial flight. Officials say the goal of the program is to make it easier to check travelers' information against names on terrorist watch lists. They also note that travelers with names similar to names on the watch list will have an easier time passing through security.
