How animals influenced society's evolution

The world's earliest humans' survival depended on understanding and interacting with the animals around them, and the relationship developed into strong bonds that influenced the development of language and spurred man's domination of the Earth, says anthropologist Pat Shipman. The relationship continues today in our desire to keep and care for pets, she says.
