Microsoft to broaden Xbox content offerings

Microsoft says it's in talks with dozens of music, television and film providers as part of an effort to expand streaming and video-on-demand content choices via Xbox 360. Sources say the company is near deals with Comcast and Verizon to offer online pay-television services to subscribers of Xfinity and FiOS via the Xbox. "This is the year that live television comes to Xbox 360. This is our vision of the future of television," Microsoft executive Marc Whitten said in May.
