Pediatric patient feedback can improve care, nurses say

Nancy Ryan-Wenger, director of nursing research at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, got feedback from 500 young patients on what they liked and disliked about their care and found 35% were concerned about how often their nurse checked on them, which made them feel safe. Professor Linda Lindeke at the University of Minnesota's School of Nursing says research that leads to better care for children is needed because many nursing schools have cut back on the time spent on pediatrics.
