Diabetes raises risk of death due to pulmonary edema

Men with diabetes were nearly three times as likely to die of pulmonary edema, while women with diabetes had a nearly fivefold increased risk of dying from the condition compared with control groups without diabetes, according to a study presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes meeting.
