Diabetes screening may not curb mortality rates

Data on more than 20,000 British participants at high risk of diabetes revealed those who underwent type 2 diabetes screening -- along with follow-up care for those diagnosed -- did not show lower overall mortality rates at nearly 10 years compared with those who did not receive screening. The study was published in The Lancet.
